Providing Your child With a Fun and engaging Learning Environment
Our Pre-K program was created with the Parkland School District Kindergarten curriculum in mind. We focus on concepts that our PreK children will need to know to succeed in kindergarten and beyond. Although we are more focused on academics in this classroom, learning is still done mostly through play. Our experienced certified teacher creates experiences that allows children to learn concepts in a fun way. Your child will participate in dramatic play, games and activities meant to encourage specific learning goals. We believe that it is possible to support kindergarten readiness while remembering that a child's job is to play.
Our Pre-K Learning Curriculum Includes Lessons On
• Alphabet recognition and sound
• Rhyming words
• Importance of sequencing in a story
• Remembering the order of events
• Encouraging them to come up with ideas for what will happen next
• Learning and Recognizing sight words
• Mathematical thinking and expression
• Number counting up to 20
• Identification of numbers from zero through 10
• Counting of number sets
• Identification of sets that are greater than or less than the other
• Addition and subtraction using objects in a set
• Identification of the position of objects, such as below, in front of, second in line and more
